Article 13: A Social Media viewpoint

Article 13:  So this short article from Social Media Today talks about Article 13 which is essentially the EU's copyright act that is super strict. The bill has caused a lot of outcry since it's conception in parliament which has received a lot of criticism from digital influencers, creative agencies, and even YouTube stated they would be heavily impacted by the passing of Article 13:  My takeaway: I think it's important for us to realize that most of us in the digital marketing field are going to be impacted by this. We know that our creations receive protection as a copyrighted IP, but that means that if we use a photo, graphic, or other design by someone else, under Article 13 there could be some heavy punishments.

I also see the trend that Buzzsumo reported about the rise of video.
